Kat Zhang started writing her first novel at age twelve and hasn’t let up since. In high school, she wrote What’s Left of Me<\/em>, which expanded into her Young Adult series, “The Hybrid Chronicles,” about a parallel universe where everyone is born with two souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She then published two Middle Grade novels: The Emperor’s Riddle<\/em> and The Memory of Forgotten Things<\/em>. Her popular Amy Wu<\/em> picture book series has been featured by the New York Times, Parents magazine, and the 2021 Read for the Record Campaign, where over 2 million readers came together to read one of Amy’s stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, she teamed up with the creators of AVATAR: The Last Airbender to write the first AVATAR picture book, Heart of a Hero, <\/em>and is working on a series of books with Baobab Studios and Penguin Random House about the Magic Paintbrush legends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
