Kat Zhang started writing her first novel at age twelve and hasn't let up since. In high school, she wrote What's Left of Me<\/em>, which soon expanded into her Young Adult series, \"The Hybrid Chronicles.\" The trilogy, about a parallel universe where everyone is born with two souls, concluded in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n

She then published two Middle Grade novels: The Emperor's Riddle <\/em>(about hidden treasure, lost aunts, and China), and The Memory of Forgotten Things <\/em>(about grief, solar eclipses, and misfit children). Her popular Amy Wu<\/em> picture book series has been featured by the New York Times, Parents magazine, and the 2021 Read for the Record Campaign, where over 2 million readers came together to read one of Amy's stories.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, she teamed up with the creators of AVATAR: The Last Airbender to write the first AVATAR picture book, Heart of a Hero, <\/em>and is working on a series of books with Baobab Studios and Penguin Random House about the Magic Paintbrush legends!<\/span><\/p>\n
